A love of symmetry and the colours of autumn and winter run through
much of my work. Amongst my favourite subjects are landscapes and
historic steam trains. The beauty of the English Lakes, Howgill
Fells, Yorkshire Dales and the Scottish Highlands has a special
appeal. When abroad it is Italy. My images are not planned - just
seen and taken.
I have remained with traditional film and I use no digital manipulation
or filters.
I was born in Southport and am self-taught. My photographs have
been displayed nationally and internationally in exhibitions. Some
of the publications showing my work are “Amateur Photographer”,
Lancashire Life” and in the Craftsman”.
Major UK organisations such as British Aerospace, United Utilities,
and distinguished hotels and restaurants have purchased my work.
I have also done commissions for private clients worldwide.
In the past few years I have had exhibits in Towneley Hall, The
Theatre by the Lake, Keswick and have featured in several exhibitions
by the Royal Photographic Society.
I have been awarded the distinction of Licentiateship of the Royal
Photographic Society (LRSP). I am a member of the Art & Craft
Guild of Lancashire as well as the Royal Photographic Society.
