Freelance contemporary textile artist specialising in the ancient art of felt making by manipulation and transformation of dyed wools including merino, wensleydale, and mohair with silk and synthetic fibres embedding muslin and chiffon fabrics. I create wall hangings and framed works using a rich palette of colours vivid, complimentary and contrasting purples, pinks, turquoises, blues, oranges and more. Several of my creations have felted relief work, and stitch incorporating recycled/found objects within the layered, textural surface. I design and make Nuno felted silk chiffon scarves and jewellery using wool and silk fibres in a variety of colour ranges.

I am happy to accept commissions.

I have devised and taught feltmaking courses/training/Inset and workshops for all ages. Subjects include felt wall hangings, working with design, colour & blending fibres, bags, masks, 3d creations, Nuno scarves, jewellery, vessels.

I have many years experience of leading, participatory arts projects, residencies, celebratory and public art for Schools and Community venues with children and adults. The resulting felt wall hangings; masks, mosaics and murals are displayed throughout the North West in schools, community centres, galleries, and public buildings.
