My paintings show the vulnerability and innocence of figures and
reflect past times. I love the challenge of painting a figure in
a playful or active pose.
Texture is also an important feature in perhaps in walls, on the
beach or in water. I like to paint the folds in the skin which are
replicated in the clothes and drapes worn by the figures.
My works are conversation pieces which lead the viewer to ponder
the unspoken words and thoughts passing between the figures in the
paintings. By painting the nape of the neck, the shape of the head
and the back of figures the viewer can put their own faces in the
picture.
I aim to catch those fleeting moments when kids do those daft things
they love to do and that create memories for adults.
