Wildlife and Botanical art

After graduating in scientific illustrating at Blackpool and Fylde College, I was commissioned by the R.S.P.B to paint interpretation displays for several nature reserves. I was fortunate to be invited to exhibit my watercolour paintings in London which led to ten years of publishing work. Illustrating children’s books and natural history journals for Usboune and Dorling Kindersly was great fun.

More recently, I was commissioned by Sefton Council to illustrate the wonderful wildlife on Southport’s coast.

My paintings are always inspired by wildlife and are usually done in watercolour with some larger canvases being done in acrylic paint. Aside from my pet portraits, I am currently working on various botanical studies of orchids and a series of local landscapes.
